Dear Friend:
I am so happy that you have visited our web site. I appreciate you taking the time to "check us out." Visit all the stops on this site that interest you and that tell you more about who we are and what we are about.
Central is an old congregation, organized in 1902, with 13 charter members. Its coming into being was the result of a cottage prayer meeting instituted by a godly woman, Mrs. A. P. Leech. In 1899 she noticed a large number of children playing in the streets near her home. She called her daughter, Mrs. J. S. Boucher, and together they organized a Sunday afternoon meeting for them. It was out of this vision and concern that this community of disciples came to be.
Now, in the year 2007, over 100 years later, Central is an old church with an emerging and fresh vision for the Columbus community. With a major university just across the street, with needy and searching folks all around us, and located in a city on the verge of growth and development, we are looking to be in those places where God can work through our gifts and graces to bring healing and wholeness - body, mind, and soul - to his children.
If you are looking for warm fellowship, an experiential worship time, and a place to find and express your Christian commitment, Central is your place. We are small - but vibrant, and looking to the future with great hope. As you check out our website, check out our good folks here. Come, worship and visit with us on Sunday morning (11:00 a. m.) or Sunday evening (6:00 p. m.). If you like the Sunday School setting or another kind of group, we'll find you a place to grow and be.
God bless you. Thanks for stopping by. Hope to see you soon!
